A physiotherapy institute built around movement, function, and independence
Shree Ponnulingammal (SPL) College of Physiotherapy trains students to examine, evaluate, diagnose and treat movement dysfunction — the discipline behind every step, lift and stretch a recovering patient makes.
Educate
A structured, competency-based classroom and lab curriculum rooted in basic medical sciences and clinical reasoning.
Heal
Supervised clinical postings across orthopaedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary and community rehabilitation settings.
Empower
Graduates equipped to practise independently or within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, in India and abroad.
Clinical reasoning, not just recall
SPL College of Physiotherapy offers the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) — an undergraduate degree that prepares students to examine, evaluate, diagnose and treat movement dysfunction arising from trauma, disease, or congenital conditions.
Our teaching follows the competency-based structure set out by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), combining classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and hospital-based clinical training so every graduate leaves able to reason clinically, not just recall theory.
The programme covers therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, electrotherapy and thermal modalities, alongside prevention, health promotion, and community-based rehabilitation — the full scope of practice recognised for physiotherapists under the NCAHP Act, 2021.
We keep our annual intake to 50 students, by design — small enough that every student gets hands-on time in the lab and on clinical postings, rather than watching from the back of a lecture hall.
Set at Rajakalpatti, in the Madurai region
The campus sits at Rajakalpatti, Madurai, Tamil Nadu 625503 — close enough to Madurai's teaching hospitals for regular clinical exposure, quiet enough for focused study.
